People are FASCINATING

We think our lives are built on a thousand little accidents when in reality, everything is intentional and directly constructed for us.

MY DREAM

BE A WRITER FOR REAL-REAL!
Not for fake-fake, dreamy fake on some forever self-publishing and dreaming about it bull-tip.

JEALOUS OF...

ARTISTS WHO CAN PAINT, DRAW, SCULPT, ANIMATE...

What I'm trying to say is I admire your work, you LUCKY BASTARDS you.

WHO AM I?

On a fluff level, I'm a storyteller (if you're into those type titles). On a practical level, I'm a writer, professor and content/brand marketer.

I study people and human nature—people are funny! I like to find their quirks and learn how they tick. One of my greatest strengths is finding the strengths and talents in others.

It brings me so much joy to imagine grand futures for individuals, organizations and seemingly small ideas.

And I mean that. VISION is a part of me.

ABOUT KIDDO KETA

I'm an old millennial—90s kid! Raised on the cusp of the information age in the Midwest.

My 6th grade English teacher once submitted to the local paper a poem I wrote, with a preface saying, "...Niketa will one day enrich us through her writing..."

I've been trying to live up to that prophecy ever since. It's been a labor of quirky, creative love. I grew up loving libraries and writers and books. It's no wonder nowadays I'd choose a bookstore over shoes.

COLLEGE LIFE, FINDING MYSELF, ETC.

As soon as I had the chance, I escaped "All-American City" Peoria. In the Fall of 2001, I matriculated to the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee. This city was:

**ALL BLACK EVERYTHING!**
(Culture shock #1: Predominately black city)

Memphis is where I would spend much of my adult life, continuing to write bad poetry, pine for a creative career and avoid getting serious about my writing craft. Except that one period I spent in graduate school in the Arkansas Ozarks which was:

**ALL WHITE EVERYTHING!**
(Culture shock #2: Predominately white city)

This is where creative careers seemed feasible or at least slightly more attainable. I would return to Memphis with this big writing degree in my hands.

WHAT NOW?

I was too old for an internship (in my opinion), and I had to work to survive, so I begin to freelance while building my portfolio and found myself using my journalism skills in:

Digital marketing, to be exact. I learned my unique skills and experiences made me good at content strategy. And here we are! I've worked with many great non profits and now have the opportunity to do my own thing on the side.

Passion

Passion

Passion is reading books past your bedtime, in the dark, stealing whatever hall light you can get.

It's musings coming to you on your morning commute while in the middle of traffic with an iphone microphone at hand to get you by.

It's the star in their eyes when you tell them how truly awesome they are, and you lay out the possibilities in their life they didn't think of.

It's the dazzling vision I see for your business and all the ways we can engage the world with your message.

It's the wonder in discovery and just being present.

My passion is in so many things, including writing, dreaming and envisioning the future—both for make believe and a dream come true.
